Syrup
BLACKMINT has been making its mint syrup since 1935 according to the same recipe, carefully following the various steps in its production to create this unique and superior product. It all begins by carefully nurturing the growth of the peppermint plant produced in the Val-de-Travers. The plant is harvested in September and its essential oil extracted by distillation; this oil is then blended in a solution of water and pure sugar to create an alcohol-free syrup. In 2017, in response to high customer demand, we decided to resume production after a break of around a decade, and took this opportunity to redesign the product packaging.
